Merve Mersinligil
daughter of the painter Itir Orcun (www.itir.net), born in 1984 in Ankara, Turkey. She began studying the piano at the age of 4 and gave her first public concert at the age of 9. She studied with Bogustlaw Woudka, David Ezra Okonsar and Eliane Reyes before meeting her two great teachers, who shaped her career as a pianist: Aquiles Delle Vigne and Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden.
She holds degrees from the Royal Conservatoires of Brussels (with Magna Cum Laude in a Master’s specialising in Piano) and Mons (with Cum Laude in a Master’s in Piano Pedagogy), as well as from CODARTS, Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, Rotterdam (Master of Music, Piano Performance) and the State Conservatoire of Istanbul University (composition and theory). Previously, she studied at Bilkent University, in the preparatory music school section, on an excellence scholarship. She is a finalist and prize-winner in international piano and chamber music competitions. A recognised teacher, she teaches at the Watermael Boitsfort Academy of Music and Performing Arts and at the Eduardo Del Pueyo Music Centre in Belgium, and also gives masterclasses internationally. Her students have also won prizes in various international competitions.
She is represented by Abiry Management in London - United Kingdom and Pastorale Music Agency in Amsterdam - Netherlands. She tours extensively in Europe, in 2025-2026 season she made her debut in Africa with violinist Michal Buczkowski. She is also the president and the artistic director of CLAME asbl (www.clame.be) which organizes regular concerts in Belgium to promote classical music and young talents with their maestros since 2013.
